A landslide over the iconic Navagio beach on Zakynthos island has reportedly injured three people.

The cove, accessible only by sea, features limestone cliffs towering above the beach of white sand and crystalline water made famous by the wreckage of a small cargo ship washed up on the beach since the 1980s, according to the Associated Press.

A rock wall has peeled off the cliff face surrounding the popular Greek beach of Navagio injuring tourists.

A Czech woman suffered back injuries and was taken to hospital, another six people, including two children were treated for minor injuries.

Authorities later said everyone who had arrived at the beach on tourist boats had been accounted for. She said they heard an "almighty cracking sound" as the sheet of rock crashed down onto the beach, flooding the busy beach and capsizing boats.
