French World Cup-winning captain Hugo Lloris has admitted to being twice the drink-drive limit when he was stopped by police in his Porsche in the early hours of August 24.

Lloris appeared in Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning and pleaded guilty to one count of drink driving.

An unmarked police vehicle had spotted Lloris - who captained Les Bleus to World Cup glory in Russian Federation on July 15 - as he drove his Porsche Panamera in the early hours, with prosecutor Henry Fitch claiming the player went through a red light before being stopped.

According to official court papers, the France star was stopped with 80 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath - more than double the legal limit of 35mg.

According to Sky Sports, Prosecutor Henry Fitch said police in an unmarked auto spotted Lloris' vehicle driving at 30km in a 60km zone.

Lloris, who had been at a restaurant that night, was swerving towards parked cars and had to be helped out of his vehicle.

As well as being banned for 20 months he was fined £50,000.

US President Donald Trump views about PM Modi had come during a meeting which had taken place in the White House in July 19, 2017. The magazine goes on to say that Cohn was "astounded" by "the depths of the president's stupidity".

Vomit was found in the auto when Lloris was pulled over by the police.

"Drink-driving is completely unacceptable, I take full responsibility for my actions and it is not the example I wish to set".

He said: "On July 15 he was arguably the proudest man on the planet - having captained France to the World Cup victory".

He said a taxi which had booked cancelled so Lloris made "the first of a number of unwise decisions" and chose to drive home.

Mr Sonn also acknowledged his client's fall from grace after being arrested.

The magistrate said the fine represented the seriousness of the offence as well as the goalkeeper's financial means.

Lloris has made 207 appearances in the Premier League since joining Spurs from Lyon in 2012.
