Stefanos Tsitsipas became the first Greek tennis player to win an ATP World Tour title when he beat Ernests Gulbis 6-4, 6-4 in the final of the Stockholm Open on Sunday.

Edmund is the first British man other than Andy Murray to win a singles title since Greg Rusedski's success in Newport in July 2005.

It was the third final of the year for the 20-year-old Tsitsipas, who became the first Greek player to win an ATP title. In the Stockholm final, Tsitsipas dominated on serve, winning 80 per cent of his service points and saving the only break point he faced.

Former top-10 player Gulbis, now ranked 145 and who came through qualifying in Stockholm, had been hoping to make it seven titles in seven finals.

Third seed Tsitsipas defeated Fabio Fognini (2), who himself remains an outside shot for the ATP Finals, in a one-sided 6-3 6-2 victory.

Trump administration mulls rollback of Obama-era transgender protections, report says
In Chicago, Reyna Ortiz said being transgender for 25 years has prepared her for setbacks such as the Trump administration proposal.

"He played a really good match". The roller-coaster ride that is Gulbis' career is suddenly trending upward again and has him through to his first ATP final since 2014.

"I was fighting for every point", said Gulbis, who will battle Stefanos Tsitsipas for the title.

Edmund will climb back to 14th in the world rankings, equalling his career high, but his hopes of qualifying for the ATP Finals in London for the first time remain extremely remote, with this tournament offering only 250 points for the victor. "I wish that it's not the last one", Gulbis told his opponent on court after the match. Nicholas Kalogeropolous was the first Greek to make a tour-level final, doing so in Des Moines 35 years ago. She lost to Tunisian qualifier Ons Jabeur in three sets at the WTA Kremlin Cup event. "Congratulations on your first title".

Top-seeded Kyle Edmund of Great Britain outlasted sixth-seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) to win the title at Antwerp, Belgium.
