This doesn't mean the company is giving away Prime for the holidays: The announcement doesn't specify a set delivery time across all of the qualifying items, and it does mention the subscription service several times before the first paragraph has even concluded. The Amazon help page explains that delivery will take five-to-eight working days and then only after all the items in your order are available, including pre-ordered products.

Well, Amazon has struck back; now it too is offering free shipping with no minimum to all customers, according to Reuters.

Amazon has found another way to entice holiday shoppers this season: free shipping to everyone, including non-Prime members.

You won't need a club membership, and you won't have to meet a minimum order to get free shipping when you shop online at Target, which might add up to huge savings. Best Buy also removed its free shipping threshold for the holidays, but gives no time guarantees. The offer applies to "hundreds of millions of items", Amazon said, which makes it "the largest free shipping selection in the country". During the fourth quarter of 2017, the company spent a record $7.3 billion getting packages to customers.

The e-commerce giant is offering free shipping to all customers this holiday, starting November 5. The spokeswoman said the company expects to announce that cutoff date later, after assessing customer demand and its logistics network.

For now, non-Prime U.S. customers can use Amazon and not pay for postage.
