These are not MY Tennessee values.

And for the U.S. Senate, House member Marsha Blackburn, the Republican, has won her race against former governor and Democrat Phil Bredesen.

Seems Laura was waiting to ambush Taylor on social media. the FOX News host fired off the snarky Tweet minutes after the network called the election in Blackburn's favor.

Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), one of Congress's most outspoken opponents of strict net neutrality rules, has won a US Senate seat.

Corker, the outgoing senator, had backed Blackburn but refused to campaign against Bredesen, whom he considers a friend.

"Marsha Blackburn demonstrated the type of conservative leadership Tennessee voters want in Washington", National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Cory Gardner said in a statement Tuesday evening.

Strong economy likely to keep Democrats from winning midterms
Trump , the GOP's chief messenger, warned that significant Democratic victories would trigger devastating consequences. Campaigning has seen Republican Trump and Barack Obama, for the Democrats, presenting very different perspectives.

Describing herself as "hard core" and "politically incorrect and proud of it", Blackburn embraced her reputation as a conservative firebrand. Bredesen broke with many in his party to say he would have voted to confirm Kavanaugh, but he waited until the day of the Senate vote to say so.

While Republicans in many tight races kept their distance from Trump, Blackburn touted her fierce loyalty to the president and campaigned with him three times, once in Nashville and twice in the eastern part of the state, where she was lesser known and had struggled to turn out the vote.

Early polls had Bredesen in the lead.

John Geer, Dean of the College of Arts and Science at Vanderbilt University and political science professor, said in the lead-up to election night that moderate Republicans who were drawn to figures like outgoing Gov. Bill Haslam and Sen.

On Tuesday night, she was happy to claim a piece of Tennessee history for women in the Senate. "Having served at the state level as well as the federal level, Marsha will help bring power back to the states and truly make America great again".
