On field again: Dez Bryant is joining the New Orleans Saints, agreeing to a contract through the rest of this season.

Pelissero acknowledged in his report that Bryant has gotten close to agreeing to terms before, turning down an offer with the Baltimore Ravens said to be worth $21-million over three years.

He meant to sign a one-year contract this season, then work on a longer-term deal starting next season, the reports said.

After months of speculation, Dez Bryant may finally find a new home. And perhaps he can.

The former Dallas Cowboy will officially sign a one-year deal on Thursday.

The veteran wide receiver hasn't seen any National Football League action since being released by the Cowboys in April after spending eight seasons in Dallas.

Now we'll just have to see if the Saints think so, too. Running back Alvin Kamara (51 catches) and tight end Benjamin Watson (26 catches) rank second and third on the Saints. The Saints are a balanced offense, but in games where Brees has to be the dominant force, having a guy who can help with quick routes and consistent downfield gains would be a major addition.

The Saints (7-1) are thin in the receiving corps after Ted Ginn Jr. was placed on injured reserve and with newly signed Cameron Meredith struggling over the last few games. The rare connection between coach and quarterback in New Orleans, which manifests itself on the fiend constantly, is something Bryant's never benefited from-not at this level.
