What Dez Bryant signing with the Saints means for fantasy football owners

The New Orleans Saints are without question one of the top teams in the National Football League this season and are fresh off of a huge victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Bryant's salary was not immediately known.

The wide receiver was struggling after joining the Saints, however, with zero targets over the past three games.

The Saints also have yet to receive consistent production from Cameron Meredith, a former Chicago receiving leader who was acquired in free agency, but who also is trying to come back from major knee surgery that wiped out his 2017 campaign.

Bryant retweeted a person congratulating him on landing with the Saints, who lost receiver Ted Ginn Jr. for the year.

Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram have the Saints' running game locked down. And they acquired cornerback Eli Apple from the Giants before the trade deadline by giving up their fourth- and seventh-round picks. Richard Sherman certainly seems to like the signing for New Orleans.

Last season was Bryant's best since he caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards and 16 TDs in 2014, which at the time was his third consecutive season with at least 1,200 yards receiving. And the Cowboys were ultimately ready to move on from what executive vice president Stephen Jones described as a "fiery" personality that could sometimes be a "distraction".

Dez Bryant isn't the same player he once was-the last time we saw him, he was a step slow and still struggling with drops-but that's not a problem right now. Despite a rocky situation where he publicly called out former teammates Sean Lee and Travis Frederick for not having his back, his love for the Cowboys has been on full display through his social media posts throughout the season.

Soon after, Bryant tweeted several times that he holds no bitterness or anger toward the Cowboys. The Saints play at Dallas on November 29.
