Fortnite Patch v6.21 Adds Balloons, New Fortnitemares Challenges

Based on previous Fortnite offline maintenance periods, fans can expect the game to come back online at around 10am United Kingdom time.

Fortnite players will just have to wait one more day. At least now that glider re-deployment has been added to the battle royale mode, players won't have to worry about falling to their deaths.

As seen in the pair of tweets below, Epic Games wanted to give Fortnite fans a heads up earlier this morning that it would be releasing a hotfix today in order to reign in the explosive damage so that structures still provide some form of protection against any given blast.

"Added support for Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and newer versions of PS4 and Xbox One controllers on Mac".

Balloons can of course be popped by enemies, leading to some potential disasters if you're not careful. Your primary fire button will inflate them, while secondary fire will release them.

"We've finished our first week of Glider Re-deploy being available in all modes", Epic says. The patch notes warn, "Don't float too high for too long; balloons only last so long at max build height."Another significant change involves glider re-deploying, a feature that entered testing with the last patch". The Grappler's velocity has also been tweaked.

The Game Map also has additional Cube Monsters that were integrated into the event.

All you have to do to witness the event is be in a match at 1pm on November 4.

During Fortnitemares, the cube created Halloween-themed monsters, but as the Halloween event will soon be over, the monsters will have to leave, and they'll probably be taking the cube with them. The Epic's official blog post also mentions that they will continue the glider re-deploy feature based on the internal data collection and feedbacks. For example, rocket launches, meteors, and the cube itself have caused great alterations to the map in the past.
