Indonesian divers reported seeing the main wreckage of the Lion Air jet that crashed into the Java Sea on Monday. Several passengers have described the problem as a terrifying loss of altitude.

Separately, however, the videos and pictures that are circulating the Internet claiming to show the accident flight from a passenger's perspective are false and relates to another Lion Air flight JT-353 from Jakarta to Padang which encountered turbulence some time ago. "The captain said the problem was resolved and he chose to continue the trip to Jakarta".

Investigators have yet not extracted any information from the first flight data recorder.

On Thursday, one of the plane's black boxes, which airlines are required to install in jets, was recovered as well as parts of its landing gear.
