Report Newlyweds killed in helicopter crash while leaving their wedding

Both Will and Bailee were seniors at Sam Houston State University, according to the student newspaper The Houstonian.

Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman Byler had married in Uvalde, around 100 miles west of San Antonio, on Saturday night.

The TV station reports the helicopter's pilot was also killed in the crash.

"We celebrated their fairy tale wedding and they were surrounded by their family and friends as they flew off in the family helicopter", Eric Smith, a family friend, posted on Facebook.

Mr Byler's grandfather, William Byler, told Houston TV station KTRK that both had died as a result of the accident, with friends and family having cheered them on as they took off from the ranch.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it is investigating the crash.

Engagement photos posted on the website show Mr Byler in his cowboy hat embracing Ms Ackerman.
