Delhi 4 athletes killed in road accident on Panipat highway two weightlifters injured say reports

Four power-lifters died and two others, including a national level powerlifter, were injured after their vehicle met with an accident in the early hours on Sunday near Delhi-Haryana border in northwest Delhi, the police said.

Among the injured is Saksham Yadav, who bagged the gold medal for India at the World Weightlifting Championships in 2017.

The players met with the accident at 4 am at a place called Alipur village near Singhu border. Locals told the police that the driver somehow lost control of the auto, perhaps while overtaking another vehicle, and rammed into a roadside pole due to which it overturned.
