This feature allows for display control via easy hand gestures at any position within the vehicle. When the driver enters the vehicle, a facial recognition technology will identify the person and their personal profile.
The company aims at combining the technologies of two indispensable devices, that is, your smartphone and your vehicle and aims at zeroing the need of the drivers and passengers to reach for their smartphone while driving and travelling.
The company is touting it as the first "smart intuitive vehicle" and a digital living room on wheels, and it will cost about 40 per cent less than a Tesla Model X.
Byton also promises not to disappoint from an EV standpoint: It has a maximum range of 323 miles, and a rapid-charging mode means 30 minutes of charging will get you up to 80 percent of your battery.
The model will go into production and sale next year in China, and hit American and European markets a year later.

Level 4, which Byton is promising in the future, means the vehicle takes over all of the driving in certain conditions. No matter which BYTON the driver sits in, his or her profile can be downloaded from the cloud to the auto, making the customer feel as if every BYTON is his/her own vehicle. Byton Life is what the company describes as the technical backbone.
BYTON's SUV will be launched in China in 2019, and in the USA and Europe in 2020. Its engineering work-basically anything to do with autonomous driving, sensors, and software development-occurs at its North American headquarters in Santa Clara, California.
BYTON has adopted an all-new platform specifically designed for electric vehicles.
At the CES presentation for Byton, the company drove its prototype down a runway onto the stage - very slowly - with Breitfield and Kirchert stepping out of the vehicle to applause. The first Byton has some futuristic elements on the outside but does not leap current cross-over SUV designs.
The company has raised $320 million from outside investors.
BYTON to include two power options: 200kW (400NM torque) single motor rear-wheel drive model and 350kW (710NM torque) dual motors four-wheel model. Kirchert says mass production should be ready by the end of 2019.
