Shanghai Shenhua have terminated the contract of striker Carlos Tevez.
Argentine media outlet Clair Deportes reports that Tevez's agents have now reached an agreement with Shanghai Shenhua that would see the experienced striker move back to Boca Juniors.
"The club would like to place on record our gratitude to Tevez for his contribution last season and wish him all the best in his future endeavours", they confirmed in a statement.
Tevez, who will wear the number 32 shirt, previously played for Boca from 2001 to 2005 and 2015 to 2017, scoring 63 goals in 169 appearances for the club. "Today (Friday) he joined up with Guillermo's squad at Cardales and he is training with his team-mates".

Pixel 2 customer survey appears in the phone's settings menu
It has been found that the issue with audio clips affects the Pixel 2 XL handsets running on Android 8.0 and Android 8.1 OS. The low volume persists regardless of whether the listener is using headphones or the speaker on the receiving phone.
The 33-year-old last played a match in early November as Shenhua beat Liaoning 4-1 away from home, but that was one of only eight appearances he has made in the past seven months.
Boca however did not give details of his contract or disclose if the Chinese club had been paid a transfer fee.
Tevez joined Shenhua in January previous year on an estimated 730,000 euros a week salary, making him one of the world's highest-paid players.
After winning the Libertadores Cup and Intercontinental Cup titles, Tevez enjoyed spells at Brazilian side Corinthians and West Ham before a successful period in Manchester, where he won Premier League titles with both United and City.
