CBS renews 'Young Sheldon' for Season 2

Whenever Big Bang wraps up for good, CBS still has spinoff Young Sheldon in its back pocket. Unlike many of CBS' other failed attempts at recapturing the half-hour comedy success of "Big Bang Theory", "Young Sheldon" has become the number 1 new comedy of the season with a 2.4 average rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic up until this point.

The show, which focuses on Jim Parsons' character Sheldon Cooper, stars Ian Armitage with Parsons as narrator. After more than 10 seasons of dumb blond jokes (poor Penny), tone-deaf cracks at Raj's accent, and, more recently, the revival of that bad trope of men being jealous about their wives' work success and colleagues of the opposite sex, we now know when the sitcom will probably tie off its storylines and ride off into the Netflix archives.
