Samsung Reveals 8K QLED TV & Modular MicroLED Display

Samsung has come to CES 2018 with an enormous TV it's calling The Wall - and it's also claiming The Wall to be "the world's first modular TV". Were excited about this next step along our roadmap to the future of screen technology, and the remarkable viewing experience it offers to consumers.”. MicroLED has properties that challenge the OLED technology.

If you were waiting to upgrade your current LED/LCD to a latest OLED TV, I would suggest you to wait till end of 2018 to check out the new MicroLED TVs and make the decision. The display uses self-emitting picture technology with micrometer (µm) scale LEDs that do not require a backlight or color filters, offering superior contrast, deep black levels, and close-to-perfect viewing angles.

"Micro LED is the groundbreaking technology used in "The Wall", says Dave Das, Senior Vice President of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics America, "offering the benefits of existing TV technologies without any of the trade-offs".

Samsung's new 146-inch TV is bezel-less, with the company describing it as "module-based".
