The Chiefs, who won their final four games of the regular season to clinch their second straight AFC West title, took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 1-yard run by National Football League rushing champ Kareem Hunt.
The Titans put together a nice drive midway through the second quarter, but it ended when Mariota was intercepted by Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters at the nine-yard line.
On a third-and-goal play for the Titans, Mariota rolled out and threw a pass that was tipped by the Chiefs' Darrelle Revis.
The Chiefs extended their lead to 14-0 on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Smith to tight end Travis Kelce.
The Titans would take advantage, converting a 3rd and 10 and getting a long 35-yard rushing touchdown by Henry, who was simply unstoppable all game.

NFL Referee Jeff Triplette Retiring; Mike Pereira Blasted Crew for Titans-Chiefs
The Titans had a complaint too, having to waste a replay challenge on a third-down spot that was way off early in the game. And that cost the Chiefs six points in what ultimately ended up being a one-point loss.
California Commissioner Condemns Session's Move Against Legal Pot
However, it's not clear that the announcement will lead to drastic changes in the way that federal officials in OR handle pot. To say this is an established industry with thousands of people and livelihoods depending on it would be an understatement.
Lucky for Mariota, the ball was batted down right in front of him. In 2016, Mariota had 26 touchdown passes and over his first two years, he had a combined 19 interceptions. They played one of the easiest schedules in the league and still needed to win on the final week just to make the playoffs and they're one of only two playoff teams with a negative point differential. There's a chance to go win it all.
The Cowboys came back from 21-3 in the first half to beat the 49ers 30-28 in December 1972, and the Lions came back from 27-7 in the second half to beat the 49ers in December 1957. But review of the play showed Henry was down before the ball came loose. The Titans are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games overall while the Chiefs have failed to cover in eight of their last nine playoff games. For the second year in a row, the Titans held the Chiefs offense to zero points scored in the second half of a game.
The Titans will face either the Patriots or the Steelers next week.
The officials also said Mariota was down when he lost a fumble late in the first half.
