On the 13th of November, investment advisory group Arjuna Capital submitted a shareholder proposal calling on Citigroup to disclose the company's gender pay gap in the US, UK and Germany as well as relating to US minorities to non-minorities.

Citigroup has yet to publish separate gender pay gap figures for the United Kingdom which under new government rules, do not allow for such adjustments.

In 2017, Bank of America, MasterCard, American Express, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo and Citi all rejected requests from Arjuna for data on pay gaps between men and women and on the pay of minority employees.

The Boston-based investment firm pulled the resolution following a blog post by Citi's Michael Murray, head of human resources, disclosing results from an internal study of US, Germany and United Kingdom operations that found women are paid 99 percent of what men earn and minorities are paid 99 percent of what non-minorities are paid.
