However, the State Police Complaints Authority had found that Sreejiv was tortured and poisoned to death by the then Parassala CI Gopakumar and ASI Philipose. Strong action should be taken against the real culprits. To provide some relief to the victim's family, the authority, headed by retired High Court judge K Narayana Kurup, had asked the government to pay compensation of Rs 10 lakh.
