Freezing temperatures blamed for leaving foster kids without place to eat
Travelers were evacuated from a busy terminal at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York Sunday due to flooding from an apparent water main break.
The airport was experiencing arrival delays of up to two and a half hours. "It serves as a major worldwide hub for Delta Airlines", the airport website says.
The water leaked from the ceiling onto a check-in counter covering large areas of the floor, local media reported.
Customers complained both Friday and Saturday that they waited as many as six hours on the tarmac before their planes docked at a gate and as many as eight hours to collect their baggage from carousels.

Because of a snowstorm that slammed the NY metropolitan area Thursday, many passengers at JFK and LaGuardia airports remain stranded from canceled or delayed flights.
The flooding led to the suspension of global flight arrivals at the airport on Sunday and the passengers at Terminal 4 have been diverted to other terminals, said the Port Authority of NY and New Jersey.
