The India-ASEAN Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas will be addressed by Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday
India is the sixth biggest trade partner and the seventh biggest foreign direct investment for ASEAN.
The 11-day evacuation by sea started on April 1, 2015 from Aden port. Addressing the Indian diaspora at the ASEAN-India Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) here, Swaraj said that relentless Saudi bombing of Yemenese locations had made evacuation of Indian civilians next to impossible.
The annual conference, which celebrates the contributions of the Indian diaspora, was held in Singapore - the Asean chair - this year.
S Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry), Singapore, who was present today at the ASEAN-India Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2018, said the opportunity or collaboration between India and ASEAN have strong growth.
Swaraj, who was speaking at an event in Singapore, said this filled her with "immense pride", the news agency added.
About a fifth or 6 million of the 31 million overseas Indians, comprising both Indian citizens abroad and persons of Indian origin, live in the 10 Asean countries, according to figures from India's Ministry of External Affairs.
She also highlighted the role of northeast India in India-southeast Asia ties in this regard.

These cultural ties were on display at Sunday's gala dinner, a rousing end to a two-day cultural extravaganza that shone the spotlight on Indian talents and traditions.
Sushma Swaraj also referred to the fact that the ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership that was established in 1992 was elevated to that of a strategic partnership on its 20th anniversary in 2012.
Southeast Asia and India came together on the stage and on the plate, as guests tucked into a spread that melded culinary traditions and ingredients from the Asean region.
Stating that the strength of India's engagement with the ASEAN region lies in the clarity of the vision both sides share, she said: "We believe that when all nations adhere to global rules and norms, when we conduct relations on the basis of sovereign equality and mutual respect, our nations feel secure and our economies prosper".
To grow ASEAN's ties with India, Balakrishnan suggested more affordable flights, to encourage more businessmen and tourists to travel.
The Saudi King, due to the friendship with Modi, agreed to halt bombings between 9 AM and 11 AM daily for a week, the minister said.
