JJ Abrams developing space series, first TV project since Fringe

Hollywood and TV all-star J.J. Abrams is writing a new TV show and is now shopping it to networks, according to a report today from The Hollywood Reporter. Sources say Apple and HBO - where Abrams serves as an EP on Westworld - are both in the running for the untitled drama, with producers Warner Bros.

The series would mark Abrams' first return to TV since 2008, when he wrote and created "Fringe". Television also open to additional bidders as the project is still being shopped.

Warner Bros., HBO, and Apple declined to comment.
