Police said that a 60-year-old man was seriously injured after an object he picked up off the ground at Stockholm's Varby Gard metro station exploded.

Police told ABC News the incident has "nothing to do with terrorism".

Rescue official Lars-Ake Stevelind told Swedish broadcaster SVT that "someone has used some type of explosive material" for the object and that police were investigating it. They were a couple and have been brought to hospital.
