A video of a group of five "drunk" men assaulting three-motorbike borne persons reportedly on the eve of New Year day celebrations here has surfaced leading to their detention by police today. Despite that, the incident happened. The assault was captured on two CCTV cameras where a gang of at least 12 drunk men was seen dancing on the road, partying and obstructing traffic. The city's MG Road and Brigade Road saw women getting molested, children getting scared, as male friends and relatives had a tough time protecting them from unruly men.

The cctv footage shows it was a small incident that went out of control.

The police also state that the footage was leaked by a rival gang member who wanted to target the accused rowdy-sheeter and hence the video was leaked. The two rowdies are Lokesh and Ambarish. However, the police as quick enough to act on the incident and have so far booked two people involved in the attack and more breakthroughs are expected until the evening or tomorrow.

"We have tried to reach out to the victims, but even if we can not contact them we will continue investigating based on the suo motu case", he added.
