Jon Gruden will leave the ESPN booth to return as coach of the Oakland Raiders, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
Gruden's name was connected often this year to the head job at the University of Tennessee, where fans have always been fixated on him. Gruden coached the Raiders from 1998 to 2001 before Al Davis traded him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he went on to win a Super Bowl. The NFL's finance committee also would have to vet Gruden, but there is no reason to think it would not approve the deal.
So, if Gruden gets the gig. coach should probably hit up Charles.
Gruden declined to specifically comment about the Raiders. "I'm here to help people".
