Google looks into Pixel 2 XL bug that affects volume of audio clips
The low volume persists regardless of whether the listener is using headphones or the speaker on the receiving phone.
It is evident how strongly Google has worked on the new camera application and its features like- AR Stickers, Motion Detection, and a few others which work only with the Pixel 2 phones. Also, the website points out that the bug might have more to do with recording audio clips rather than a problem with the Pixel 2 XL's microphone.
"I experienced the unusually low volume for outgoing voice messages in WhatsApp on two Pixel 2 XL devices". This bug is occurring with all messaging app like WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, Google Allo, Telegram and other platforms. "The same behavior was observed with Google Allo voice messages", explained an affected Pixel 2 user on the Google Product Forums. He also said he might privately reach out to those affected and ask for bug reports. Moreover, the issue doesn't seem to be present on the Pixel 2's smaller sibling, the Pixel 2 or the first generation of Pixel devices. Android Police did not spot any Pixel 2 users who have complained about the bug, that means only Pixel 2 XL owners are facing the problem.
It has been found that the issue with audio clips affects the Pixel 2 XL handsets running on Android 8.0 and Android 8.1 OS.

It's now unclear why exactly the limited volume levels are affecting these specific messaging apps, but Google has reported that they're looking into the issue, so we expect a solution sooner rather than later.

One difference between the Pixel 2 Portrait Mode and the Portrait Mode enabled by Camera NX, however, is that the original Portrait Mode only needs to take one picture, but Camera NX takes several pictures and combines them.
