Radiohead sues Lana Del Rey for plagiarism

The writers of the earlier song, Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood successfully sued Radiohead and are now credited in the liner notes, and share royalties with the band.

According to an unnamed source in The Sun, "Both teams are trying to thrash it out behind the scenes to prevent it going to court".

Currently, the writing credits state Lana, Kieron Menzies and Rick Nowels are behind the song's composition. You can listen to Del Rey's song above, and Radiohead's below.

In 2015, after a lengthy legal battle, Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke were ordered to pay £5.46 million to the family of the late Marvin Gaye after a jury ruled their global hit "Blurred Lines" was a copy of the soul singer's 1977 song "Got To Give It Up".

The news comes following the release of her latest album Lust For Life, which was home to a track titled 'Get Free'; a song bearing the same chord progression as Radiohead's 1992 hit 'Creep'. "They are two completely different songs". Del Rey confirmed the suit on Twitter this weekend.
