Donald Trump has hit back at claims over his mental health by insisting he is not only "stable", but also a "genius".
Those critics "are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence", Trump told his 46 million Twitter followers.

The comments follow the release of Michael Wolff's book, Fire And Fury, which details dysfunction, chaos and incompetence in the Trump White House - claims the administration has denied. Trump wrote, referring to questions raised about the mental fitness of the former President, who disclosed in 1994 that he had Alzheimer's disease. "I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius.and a very stable genius at that!"
Trump called the book "untruthful" and "full of lies" in a series of tweets over the past few days.
Trump, 71, issued the tweets on Saturday from the presidential retreat at Camp David, Maryland, where he was meeting Republican congressional leaders and Cabinet secretaries about their legislative agenda for 2018.

"Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency", Trump said in a statement released by the White House earlier this week. "Whether he realized it was an interview or not, I don't know, but it certainly was not off the record", said Wolff.
Trump lit into Bannon in a tweet Friday night, saying he "cried when he got fired and begged for his job".
Wolff's book has been heavily criticised by both Trump and Trump's supporters online, with the official GOP Twitter condemning the publication with its own satirical poster. "I guess sloppy Steve (Bannon) brought him into the White House quite a bit.that's why sloppy Steve is looking for a job".
Mr Wolff told BBC radio that "one of the interesting effects of the book so far is a very clear emperor-has-no-clothes effect".
Mr Wolff has said he wrote the book after conducting about 200 interviews. "Suddenly everywhere people are going, 'Oh my God, it's true, he has no clothes.' That's the background to the perception and the understanding that will finally end ... this presidency".
"Now Sloppy Steve has been dumped like a dog by nearly everyone", Trump continued in his tweet.
