06 de enero de 2018, 11:07Kuala Lumpur, Jan 6 (Prensa Latina) After reaching a cooperation agreement with the United States private company Ocean Infinity, Malaysian authorities confirmed today a new phase of search for flight MH370, which disappeared in March 2014.

It's been almost four years since the Boeing 777 mysteriously disappeared from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.

The governments of Malaysia, China and Australia called off the 1,046-day official search nearly a year ago without solving the mystery of why it disappeared.

The Minister of Transport, Liow Tiong Lai, said that the contract will be signed next week and will only have an economic cost if it concludes successfully, as agreed between both sides in October. Earlier in the week, the company sent its search vessel, the Seabed Constructor, to look for debris in the southern Indian Ocean.

It is hoped by this time the Malaysian government and Ocean Infinity will have finalised a deal for the hunt to resume.

"The basis of the offer from Ocean Infinity is based on "no cure, no fee".

Ocean Infinity was one of three companies which had bid to resume the hunt. The search was suspended in January 2017. A fresh analysis of the final moments of doomed Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, released by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, suggests no one was controlling the plane when it plane plunged into the ocean. The vessel is carrying several autonomous submarines which can be launched from the ship to scour the seabed for the jet.

Only three confirmed fragments of MH370 have been found, all of them on western Indian Ocean shores, including a two-metre wing part known as a flaperon.
