Mumbai Police had arrested a 32 year old man for allegedly harassing and threatening to kidnap former India Cricket captain Sachin Tendulkar's daughter Sara Tendulkar. The man arrested by the police has been identified as Debkumar Maity who belongs to the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. "Have never seen her in person", Dev Kumar Maiti told police.
The man is said to have made about 20 calls to Tendulkar's Bandra residence, threatening to kidnap her and even proposing marriage. Sara had lodged a complaint against Maity at Bandra Police Station following which the policemen began their search. It is still being investigated as to how he got access to Sachin Tendulkar's phone number. "Finally, taking assistance from local police, our officers arrested the accused caller from West Bengal on Saturday", the official added. The accused went on to hurl lewd comments on Sachin Tendulkar's 20-year old daughter.
Meanwhile, Dev Kumar Maiti's daily has claimed that he is not mentally fit.
