He added that he did not intend to carry out a cognitive test but the President insisted, and that the slurred speech was simply down to a dry mouth.
President Donald Trump is in good physical and cognitive health following his first medical examination as president, White House physician Ronny Jackson told reporters Tuesday, noting that the president earned ideal marks on a cognitive test that he himself requested.
"I've found no reason whatsoever to think that the president has any issues whatsoever with his thought process", he said.
Jackson said Trump scored a 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment test, which is not a psychological evaluation but does test for the early signs of disorders such as Alzheimer's.
The event includes of a three-part panel where, according to White House spokeswoman Lindsey Walters, "women from various backgrounds and experiences ... will speak with high-level women within the Trump administration".
Dr Jackson said Mr Trump had performed well on a cognitive assessment, which the president had requested.
Jackson says Trump's overall health "is excellent".
President Donald Trump's doctor says he's confident that Trump has a "very strong and a very probable possibility" of completing his presidency "with no medical issues".
Jackson said he had no plans to perform the cognitive test ahead of the examination as a result of his personal understanding of Trump, but that Trump urged him to do so.
He also gave physicals to President Barack Obama and will now examine President Donald Trump. Jackson says Trump's heart exam was normal, with regular rhythm and no abnormal sounds.
