Kurdish Syrian ex-leader Salih Muslim arrested in Prague
Muslim was the co-chair of the PYD party, the major component of the coalition that runs autonomous parts of north Syria.
Syrian Kurdish leader Saleh Muslim was arrested in Prague on Saturday on an worldwide arrest warrant, the Turkish news agency Anadolu reported on Sunday.
There was no immediate comment from Czech authorities on the detention of Muslim, who is a Syrian citizen.
The arrest came after Turkey called on the Czech Republic to arrest the former co-leader and sent warrants for his arrest to Prague, Turkish officials said.

Turkey is expected to file an extradition request in the coming days and a Czech court will decide whether to hand Muslim over to the Turkish authorities.
Turkey launched a military offensive last month in Syria's Afrin region against the Kurdish YPG militia, the PYD's armed affiliate, which it deems a menace on its border. Ankara sees the PYD as an extension of the outlawed Kurdish PKK, which has waged a three-decade insurgency on Turkish soil. The operation has hardly reached its planned objectives while Turkish troops have suffered badly among their ranks.
