Authorities in Florida said a mom gave "new meaning to the term carpool" when she accidentally sent her vehicle idling into a pool with her husband and daughter inside.

It meant the vehicle slipped backwards towards the nearby swimming pool with her family still in their seats, and prompted a call to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's office at around 2pm local time on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page photos of a blue, four-door Honda Civic completely submerged in a Crestview apartment complex's pool.

Okaloosa Island is in Florida's Panhandle.

The sheriff's office said despite the plunge into the pool, everyone was "ok" and no injuries reported.
