Cops began investigating after the baby was born on November 21 with "severe medical problems", according to the Orlando Sentinel. Following this, the newborn was immediately transferred to a special care hospital in Orlando where genetic testing revealed that the parents were related.
A 33-year-old Groveland woman has been arrested after DNA tests showed a child she gave birth to with "several medical problems" had parents who were close relatives, according to an arrest report. Her Facebook profile indicates she is originally from CT.
The Florida Department of Children and Families met with Martin and her brother to request the paper work be completed; however, they did not fill out the forms until February 26, the report states.
"She said she was going to end her relationship with her brother because she knows it is wrong", the police report read.
At another point in the interview though, Martin tried to get up and run towards the back of the restaurant.
