AJ Pollock exits Diamondbacks' Monday game with sprained thumb
The team recently got back right fielder Steven Souza Jr., who they acquired from Tampa Bay last offseason. Junior Guerra picked up his third win of the season in an impressive six inning outing.
So when Pollock went down late in Monday's 7-2 loss to the Brewers with a sprained left thumb, Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo couldn't bring himself to face a near future without his cleanup hitter.
Saladino homered with one out in the ninth inning, a play on which Arizona center fielder A.J. Pollock dived for the ball but could not get it as it rolled to the fence.
Tyler Saladino added a two-run, inside-the-park homer in the ninth for Milwaukee, which improved to 4-and-1 on its current 10-game road trip.
The Brewers and D'backs continue their three-game series Tuesday night in the desert.
Pollock is averaging 14.1 FanDuel points per game this season.
