A number of customers have shared their experience on Twitter. While it might make sense to have strict return policies at clothing or electronic stores where customers are able to test or try out products, in the case of Amazon, customers have to blindly trust that what they're receiving in the mail works and is in good condition.
Turns out Amazon's 30-day return policy isn't so liberal after all.
Retail giant Amazon may take action on accounts it believes are abusing its return policy, according to a spokesperson.
Amazon USA has started quizzing customers over returned items and has even banned accounts from which even 10% of ordered items were returned, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.
Amazon's return policy doesn't tell customers that returning too many items can get them kicked out, but its conditions of use say the company reserves the right to terminate accounts at its discretion. This was especially troubling because he had an unused $450 gift card to Amazon, according to WSJ. But Nissim was adamant that his one return this year, and four returns last year, didn't warrant the response.
Shoppers have for years complained about being banned from Amazon.

"We want everyone to be able to use Amazon, but there are rare occasions where someone abuses our services over an extended period of time", an Amazon spokesman said.
Included was 550 total purchases where only 43 were returned - which is less than 10percent.
The company refused to disclose how many of its customers would be banned.
When an algorithm surfaces showing suspicious behavior, a human will then go over the account. Other people noted they had also been banned from the site for similar reasons.
However, many have noticed that Amazon won't inform you if they close your account, which has left many people up in the air about why their accounts were cancelled. Others revealed Amazon asked for reasons behind returns they've made despite providing a reason through the website previously.
