If you replaced your iPhone battery previous year and paid full price, Apple is offering you $50 back.
This means anyone who ordered a new battery a year ago is retroactively being granted the same goodwill offer Apple is extending to its customers now.
In a statement, the iPhone-maker said that it is offering a credit of Rs 3,900 to those customers who replaced their batteries between 1 January 2017 to 28 December 2018.
Before the saga happened, Apple battery replacements cost $79, so a $50 credit matches the now discounted $29 price.
The refund applies to customers who would have been affected by the battery throttling that Apple introduced in iOS 10.2.1, which means iPhone 6 devices and later.

Death toll from anti-Vedanta protests in south India rises to 13
Locals have been agitating for over 100 days demanding the closure of Vedanta Group's Sterlite plant over pollution. The decision comes two days after 15 people were killed in police firing on anti-Sterlite protesters.
To deliver the $50 credit, Apple will contact eligible customers via email starting today until July 27. Over time, slight bending of the iPhone 6 frame led to an issue known as touch disease. Users who haven't heard from the company by August 1 can use this form to contact Apple for a credit, and may be asked to provide proof of service from the authorized fix facility.
For those customers who paid full price for a new battery, it looks like you'll get some of that money back.
The refund is part of Apple's effort to make up for "Batterygate". Federal judge Lucy Koh wrote that Apple knew about the new phones' propensity to bend before it launched the devices in 2014.
"Eligible battery replacements were completed at an Apple authorised service location - Apple store, Apple fix centre, or an Apple authorised service provider", the company said in a statement. The discount lasts until the end of this year (or at least, it should). In case you won't receive the email between the given period, you need to contact Apple Support by December 31.
