PA-Sen Trump backing GOP candidate in PA primary in hopes of unseating Democratic incumbent in fall

Last week, Trump urged GOP Senate primary voters to support Rep. Jim Renacci in the Ohio Senate and oppose former coal company executive Don Blankenship in West Virginia. Trump asked Barletta to run for Senate and is expected to campaign for him. Barletta is a favorite of Trump, whom Barletta endorsed in 2016.
Barletta's campaign said Saturday it sent a recorded telephone call of Trump criticizing Casey and telling hundreds of thousands of registered Republicans why he supports Barletta "fully, strongly, and proudly", CNBC reported. Seven of these 18 seats are vacant, due largely to the departures of 5 Republican lawmakers who both have resigned or should not operating once more. Renacci received and Blankenship misplaced. Pennsylvania first started allowing lieutenant governors to serve a second term in the 1970s.
Fetterman had made a failed bid in 2016 for the U.S. Senate.
