All Saints Episcopal School was placed on lockdown after a detonated package was found near St. Stephen's Episcopal Church early Thursday morning.
The Episcopal Diocese of Texas stated that sometime between the end of worship Wednesday evening and the beginning of school on Thursday morning, the package exploded outside the church's office door.
The Beaumont Police Department, ATF and the FBI are investigating the incident.
The church, which is home to the All Saints' Episcopal School, will remain closed until further notice.
The device did not detonate and no arrests have been made in connection to the incident.
Officials hosted a press conference in order to address the investigation today at 5 p.m., according to Beaumont Police Department.

Authorities are still investigating the case.
"We're utilizing a large amount of resources to try to get on this as quickly as possible", Singletary said.
Investigators determined the package was an explosive device, and bomb technicians rendered it safe, police said.
The blast was discovered two weeks after police said a package bomb was found, but did not explode, outside a Starbucks in Beaumont, about 2 miles northwest of the church.
Police said the school was releasing students early as a precaution and that parents had received instructions via text message on how to pick up students on teh French Road side of the campus.
