BlackBerry KEY2 Launch Teased for June 7
The sequel to the BlackBerry KEYone, the KEY2, will be officially introduced on June 7th. Now, the BlackBerry KEY2 appears ready to be its successor. Codenamed Athena, it's rumored to be called BlackBerry KEY2. The unveiling will take place in NY at 10am on the aforementioned date.
Earlier today BlackBerry Mobile tweeted the invite below, confirming that the "rebirth" of the KEYone is less than a month away, with the KEY2 launch event scheduled for June 7 in NY. The tweeted also confirmed the name of the phone like the BlackBerry KEY2, with the numeral 2 rather than "two" spelled out, as the logo was for the KEYone. The TENAA listing had revealed several specifications and other details of the alleged BlackBerry KEY2. Based on its listing there, it is said to feature a dual-camera setup at the back, while retaining the physical keyboard.
The upcoming smartphone has been spotted previously on Chinese regulatory site TENAA.

The QWERTY keyboard on the BlackBerry KEY2 is likely to support gestures and a multitouch-supported display that is expected to come in 3:2 aspect ratio. On the top, there will be a 3.5mm audio jack, while at the bottom, there might be a USB Type-C port. The Blackberry KEY2 stopped by TENAA and also received Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance certifications, which hinted at an announcement coming soon. The keys on the full QWERTY keyboard of the handset also have a matte finish.
Rumors have suggested that this year's model could be a solid improvement over the KEYone, keeping things like the same unusual screen size and resolution, while upgrading to a Snapdragon 660 chip, boosting RAM to 6GB, and switching to a dual-camera configuration.
