Boston Dynamics releases new video of running robot
Remember, this is the same robot that performed a backflip previous year, so we wonder what else Boston Dynamics has in store for its premier robot.
The second video is a bit more substantive, looking at their quadrupedal SpotMini. The robot jogs methodically across an expanse of grass, against a backdrop of trees punctuated by a few isolated buildings.
The most talked-about robot in Boston Dynamics' futuristic fleet was out running through the park in a video uploaded by the company this week.
We've seen Boston Dynamics' humanoid Atlas robot going for a stroll, being pushed around, and even doing backflips. It approaches a set of wooden stairs and, without missing a beat, clambers up one side and down the other. The robot was manually driven on a path ahead of this test, which allowed it to build a map of the space, and it then used its cameras to localize itself within that map. Impressively, it is also shown jumping over a log and landing solidly with both feet.
