There are two candidates vying for the GOP nod for the 30th District state Senate seat that is being vacated by Sen.

Polls are open 7 a.m.to 8 p.m. A party's endorsement also allows a candidate to appear in the same "line", the first line in a primary, on a voting machine, which makes it easy for a loyal Democrat or Republican to vote for all the candidates who got the party's seal of approval.
