Rudy Giuliani's old words on presidents come back to haunt him
Trump and his allies have seized on a recent New York Times report that at least one government informant met several times with Trump campaign advisers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos, .
President Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani said Friday that special counsel Robert Mueller has agreed to narrow the scope of a potential interview with the commander-in-chief from five topics to two, CNN reported Friday. "Which is disgusting", Giuliani said. While Trump hasn't been directly linked to potential collusion with Russian Federation, he has taken many actions as president that have caught Mueller's attention and could feasibly be seen as trying to influence the course of the investigation.
That's what Giuliani said Friday morning when asked by CNN's Chris Cuomo about whether a president can obstruct justice.
"We're in a zone of comfort", Giuliani said.
"We are talking about a difference between two hours and six", said Giuliani, who also said he's pressing to get the questions in advance.
Giuliani, however, said he didn't know for sure if there were informants embedded with the Trump campaign who spoke to federal authorities.

In the same interview, Giuliani also became very flustered when Cuomo pointed out that his belief that Trump can not be subpoenaed to sit in front of a grand jury is at odds with an interview he gave in 1998 with Charlie Rose about Bill Clinton. The actual questioning would take place some time later.
Dowd told Axios in December: "The president can not obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer under [the Constitution's Article II] and has every right to express his view of any case".
Mueller's team offered no assurances that the investigation would end shortly after a presidential interview, one of Giuliani's demands. But Giuliani said he thinks that issue would be part of the next phase of negotiations.
This is the first time that anyone on Trump's team has admitted that Trump's often-repeated smear of Obama was specious.
