Kono asks Iran to stay in nuclear deal
Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono said on Thursday that Tokyo supports the 2015 nuclear deal, which is officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Foreign ministers of Germany, France and the United Kingdom are to convene with their Iranian counterpart on May 15 to discuss the US decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal.
Note that the foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas and his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian called on Donald trump to withdraw from the agreement.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Iran will remain in the agreement without the US.
After Trump's decision, the leaders of France, Germany and the United Kingdom all said they want to continue the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), even without U.S. involvement.
