His remarks were immediately picked up by Indian media, which termed the former prime minister's statement as a confession of Pakistan's role in the Mumbai attacks that left 166 people dead. Shahbaz, 66, who has taken over from 68-year-old Nawaz Sharif as the PML-N president following the latters disqualification, said that "whoever arranged that interview is the biggest enemy of Nawaz".

He also apprised them over plan to table a constitutional amendment to merge the Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
