Monday is sentencing day for the nanny convicted of killing two children on the Upper West Side.
Yoselyn Ortega was convicted last month of murder in the 2012 deaths of Lucia and Leo Krim.
The parents of two small children whose nanny stabbed them to death at their New York City home say she is "an evil and utterly risky narcissist" who deserves her sentence of life in prison without parole. "My life is in the hands of God". She recalled the shock of returning to the family's Upper West Side apartment to find her children slain and their nanny standing over them stabbing her own neck with a kitchen knife.
The prosecution said Ortega deliberately planned the murders and was motivated by financial problems and resentment of her wealthy employers.
She said Ortega has shown no remorse, and no one in her family has ever said they were sorry for the children's slayings.
Kevin Krim said his family introduced "Lulu and Leo's law", which will make it a crime to falsify job applications and references for someone working in childcare, to NY state legislature in "direct response" to the case.
Kevin spoke often about "Team Krim", while Marina spoke out against those who recommended bringing Ortega into their family as a nanny in the first place.

A jury in April found her guilty of murdering both children, which is punishable by a maximum sentence of life in prison. "It was real", Krim told jurors. Ortega was to have dropped off Lucia at her dance class, and Krim was to pick her up.
Ortega is a naturalized United States citizen and a native of the Dominican Republic. The girl was stabbed more than 30 times and the boy was stabbed five times.
Ortega had cut her own throat in a failed suicide attempt.
"As Nessie grows up, she will be asking Kevin and me deep, unanswerable questions about life that most parents avoid talking about with their kids", Marina Krim said.
At Ortega's trial, Kevin Krim, who had been on a business trip and received news of the children's deaths when his plane landed, spoke of walking down a long hallway at the hospital where he saw their bodies.
Ortega's lawyers had failed to convince the jury she was not guilty by reason of insanity.
