STAN LEE Files $1B Lawsuit Against POW! ENTERTAINMENT - Report

Entertainment, filing a $1 billion lawsuit saying he was taken advantage when he was in an emotionally and physically fragile state. CEO Shane Duffy and co-founder Gill Champion didn't disclose the terms of the deal to him before it closed. Entertainment for fraud and conversion, claiming the company and two of its officers conspired to steal his identity, name and likeness in a "nefarious scheme" involving a "sham" sale to a Chinese company.

Lee, 95, co-created iconic comic-book characters such as Spider-Man, the X-Men and Black Panther for Marvel Comics, and makes regular cameo appearances in the ongoing movie spin-offs. "Defendants, and each of them, knew that their objective was unlawful and they meant to aid each other in achieving that unlawful objective". According to the suit, Lee has macular degeneration - which causes deteriorating eyesight. In the case, taking advantage of Lee's macular degeneration and subsequently impaired sight to get him to sign away exclusive rights to use his name to Camsing International Holding, a Hong Kong-based company that acquired POW! previous year.

Lee's purported complaint alleges that Lee signed a fraudulent contract with POW!, granting them exclusive rights to his name, though the suit claims Lee negotiated a non-exclusive agreement.
