Pakistan US impose restrictions on diplomats’ movement
Earlier, local and foreign media reported that US authorities had planned to impose travel restrictions on Pakistani diplomats in the USA from May 1, but the plan was delayed until May 11.
Pakistan has responded in kind to U.S. travel restrictions on its diplomatic staff and their families, which goes into effect today.
The move comes after the USA required Pakistani diplomats to get permission five days in advance to travel more than 40km from their embassy.
The authorities are planning to enforce restrictions on American diplomats posted in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, Dawn News reported.
Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry said, "In my opinion, this [imposing restrictions] is not the right decision".

The development came amid escalating hostile relations between United States and Pakistan, which were once allies in war on terror. He has accused the Pakistanis of giving safe haven to terrorists the U.S. is fighting in neighbouring Afghanistan.
