Israeli soldiers seen near the Israeli Syrian border in the Golan Heights
On Thursday Israel claimed it had struck nearly all of Iran's military capabilities in Syria after the rocket attack on the Golan Heights, which Israel annexed in 1981.
Israel fired dozens of missiles at what it said were Iranian positions in Syria on Thursday, hours after it said its forces in the occupied Golan Heights were targeted by Iranian rockets.
Israel's Defence Minister warned Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Friday to renounce the Iranian military presence in his country, saying the activities of Assad's staunchest regional ally would only cause "damage and problems".
The reported Iranian attack on Israeli positions in the Golan and Israel's bombardment of suspected Iranian posts in Syria appeared to be warnings by each side that it is willing to respond - but not necessarily that they want to plunge into war.
Tehran and Tel Aviv have exchanged hostile rhetoric for years, but now there are signs of an open military conflict, putting the region on edge.
During the rule of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, Iran had close relations with Israel starting in the 1950s, including diplomatic representations and direct flights.
Protesters burned an American flag and railed against the United States and Israel after emerging from Friday prayers in Tehran. "We did not come to the Iranian border, they came here", he said.
The Israeli military released aerial footage Friday of the Iranian military sites in Syria targeted by the Israeli air force. The worshippers chanted: "Death to America", and "Death to Israel". Some protesters set a U.S. flag on fire in Tehran with the nuclear deal scribbled on it. Others stomped on a picture of U.S. President Donald Trump.

State news agency SANA says opposition fighters who made a decision to stay in the suburbs of Babila, Beit Sahem and Yalda will hand over the weapons and return to normal life.
"Repeated attacks on Syrian territory constitute a blatant violation of the country's national sovereignty", Iran's Mehr news agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi as saying.
A senior military pro-regime source in Syria confirmed the salvo of rockets, but insisted Israel fired first.
SANA said police forces are getting ready to enter the area on Friday to guarantee security.
