News of Bradford's activation began to heat up on Friday when the Boston Globe's Ben Volin cited a league source that Minnesota planned to dress the quarterback for Sunday's game.

On Saturday, the Vikings announced they activated Sam Bradford from injured reserve and waived tight end Kyle Carter.

The Vikings activated Bradford off injured reserve on Saturday after a left knee injury sent him to the sideline earlier this season. Bradford returned in Chicago in Week 5 but was pulled before halftime after aggravating his injured left knee.

The Vikings have four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster: Keenum, Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater and Kyle Sloter. Bradford dressing for the game would not necessarily mean he would play ahead of Bridgewater, and it would be a significant step if the Vikings were to put him on their 46-man active roster for the game at all.

Former Vikings on the Saints ready for first trip back to Minnesota
Going into the Saints playoff matchup this Sunday, the Vikings are battle-tested and are ready for any matchup thrown their way. Their last postseason game, on January 24, 2010, went into overtime with the Saints winning 31-28 in the NFC Championship Game.

Federal judge blocks Trump's attempt to let DACA expire for current recipients
The Trump administration terminated the program and gave Congress until March to come up with a permanent solution. Trump's openness last week indicates he's willing to deal; Democrats have shown no such openness.

Raptors bench runs wild on Cavaliers
Some of James" Cavs teammates are said to be irked with him holding the ball "until he sees an "assist' pass". Miami's 0.611 effective field goal percentage was their largest strength over IN , who had a mark of 0.506.

If this is true, it's possible that Bradford could suit up as the team's third-string option against New Orleans, but Minnesota has not had three quarterbacks active for a single game since Leslie Frazier was the team's coach in 2013.

Bradford, Bridgewater and Case Keenum are all scheduled to become free agents after the season, and Bradford's return to health during the playoffs could help his case if he hits the open market in March.

For whatever it's worth, all the way back on September 11, Bradford threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns in a 29-19 home win over the Saints in Week 1.

It feels like it nearly has to be Bradford, otherwise why activate him, right?
