Gas prices jump at the start of spring
For Virginia, gas prices jumped five cents over the weekend and are 35 cents higher than they were a year ago.
The average retail price of gasoline in NY rose 3.4 cents per gallon last week to reach $2.72 on Sunday, according to GasBuddy's survey of 6,118 gas stations in that state.
The most expensive gas price averages in Tennessee are in Morristown at $2.45 per gallon and in Nashville at $2.44 per gallon, on average, according to AAA.
"This robust gasoline demand, coupled with lower supply levels, are setting the stage for rising prices in the coming weeks", Jenkins said.
The statewide average gas price has increased 10 of the last 12 days, hitting $2.55 in AAA's latest survey.
